CREIT is strongly committed to sustainability and share the sustainability goals of Citicore. These goals are anchored on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which take urgent action to combat climate change and its impact. Ensuring an access to affordable, sustainable, reliable and modern energy for all.
Through its Corporate Foundation, the company provides an impactful value-added benefit for stakeholders and communities where it operates.
With the aim to make the solar energy business sustainable for the society, and also align with the United Nations’ 2030 agenda for sustainable development, the Group pioneered the Agro-solar concept in the Philippines.
The Agro-solar concept allows solar plants and vegetable farmers to co-exist and aims to provide livelihood and augment income of the farmer community.
Additionally, CREC, across its 8 solar plants, was able to reduce approximately 231,720 of CO2 annually and 7,000,000 tons for the entire design life of the plant. As part of the Group’s other community building activities, educational, eco-Infra related and livelihood training programs are also being implemented to provide scholarships and employment opportunity to local communities to promote inclusive growth.
Eco Shed
Introduced the Eco-Infra project using upcycled solar panels.
T2E - Training-to-Employment
The T2E campaign helps develop necessary skills and competencies among trainees to achieve required capabilities and ensure employment after receiving the required technical training certifications.
Usbong Scholarships
Usbong is a bridge scholarship grant program of Citicore Foundation focused on providing educational, financial, and technical support to deserving but underprivileged students from its host communities
Bantay Basa
Bantay Basa is a school-based literacy program, anchored on improving reading competencies among communities. The program is established at the school level and extended to the community members, making it proximally advantageous in identifying and targeting those who may have the greatest need but have the least in terms of resources and opportunities.
Brigada Eskwela
Through the Adopt-A-School Program (ASP), the private sector and professionals are given the opportunity to contribute in improving the public educational system in the country.
Pailaw
Powering communities with Citicore Solar Street Light Project. This project encourages greater use of renewable energy and ultimately fosters a safer pathway through the installation of community lighting. This is aimed to enhance walkability, improve safety, and encourage productive activities, such an early-morning jog, after-dinner visit to the park, or late-night bike ride home.
